Adieu!

At the outset, I would want to thank God for providing me with the opportunity to communicate with you via this email each week. To communicate with each of you, I have been using it as our parish’s literary space. This email acts as our church’s tongue. It brings me great delight that so many of our members devotedly read this literary piece and attempt to analyze it in the light of Sunday’s theme. As the vicar of this parish, this is my final letter to you all. Indeed, you are a lovely congregation. I cherish every moment we spend together, worshiping the Lord and engaging in a variety of activities. All of you loved us unreservedly and cared for us like I, Ani and Nesa were a part of your family. I’m not sure if we met your expectations. Yet, you all stood by us at every moment in our lives. God has showered us with blessings in myriad forms. A new church, new land, a new car are just a few examples. And all of them are results of our collective efforts as well. Further I am happy to see that our church is growing both physically and spiritually. However, growth should be achieved while remaining united in Jesus Christ. Remember that a united church is capable of doing incredible things for God’s glory. Therefore, maintaining unity should be given priority in all facets of ministry. When a church is united, it will undoubtedly emit fragrance. Paul the apostle says in II Corinthians II: 15: “For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing”. It is my sincere prayer that among the churches of North America, may our church be a fragrance. I appreciate you all being our friends, brothers, sisters, and good neighbors who are willing to go for an extra mile. I say goodbye with the hope that we will keep the flame of our friendship and fellowship alive and stay in touch! Adieu!
May God Bless You All,
Rev. BENNY THOMAS
