Cords of Love
The true definition of love and affection is embodied by mothers. They always show their kids tender love. And they are ready to embrace them with care. Their unending grace for their children makes their hearts throb. The cords of love that unites a mother and her child is something that never breaks. It remains forever, even if the shadows of discomfort cast upon it. Even when darkness gathers around it, it continues to sparkle like a gem. As the years go by, it grows stronger and stronger. Words are not adequate to describe the importance a mother plays in raising and shaping her children. And obviously, it’s always a blessing to be a mother and the child of a loving and affectionate mother. The Bible frequently compares God’s love and concern to that of a mother. When referring to God’s affection and care for them during their wilderness sojourn, Moses employs the imagery of mother’s love. God guided Israel as a mother bird taught her young to fly. Moses writes: “Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions, the Lord alone guided him” (Deut. 32:11-12). In the New Testament, to express his love and affection for mankind, Jesus uses the imagery of a caring mother bird in Matthew 23: 37-38: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem! How many times I wanted to put my arms around all your people, just as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings…” All of these passages express motherly love and affection, which is equivalent to that of God. It shows us that God in motherly love cares for us.
Mother’s Day provides an opportunity to recognize the love of mothers. It is an occasion to thank Lord for mothers who are really a gift from God.
On Mother’s Day, greetings to all mothers.
May God Bless You All,
